Bristol Domestic Abuse Forum provides multi-agency training around domestic violence and abuse.

Date of upcoming courses can be found in the Events listing in the side-bar. Please note, the September and October sessions of Level 2: Understanding Domestic Violence and Abuse are now completely booked, including a full waiting list. The next available course date is 16th November.
Please note: These courses look at domestic violence and abuse using discussion, slides and workshops. If this is a subject that is close to you, you may find it distressing. Trainers will support you if this is the case, but we recommend that people think carefully before attending a course. Employers are advised to be flexible with members of staff who express discomfort at the prospect of attending a course. Many of our courses run throughout the year – you may feel better attending a later session.

The Centre for Gender and Violence Research at the University of Bristol is situated in the School for Policy Studies. The Group acts as a focus for national, international and local research and offers wide-ranging consultancy, teaching and training on issues related to violence against women, working broadly alongside Women's Aid and activist women's projects.
4yp training offer a number of training courses for those working with young people in Bristol. The courses aim to increase workers’ confidence and skills to respond appropriately to young people’s queries, refer them to appropriate sources of support and advice and to carry out effective sex and relationships and substance misuse work. All the courses are free of charge and are facilitated by members of a multi-agency sex and relationships and substance misuse trainers’ network.
The BSCB Training Programme aims to increase participants’ knowledge and skills in the field of Child Protection and Safeguarding in order to provide high quality services and improve outcomes for children, young people and their families and carers (from Bristol Safeguarding Children Board training brochure). BSCB therefore provide training around child protection and related issues, including domestic violence and abuse.
This course costs £60 to attend for two days. There are currently no future dates booked. An Open College Network accredited qualification entitled 'Effective responses to domestic and sexual violence/abuse', designed for professionals working within the domestic and sexual violence sector (e.g. DSV specialist support staff including refuge workers, refuge managers, outreach workers, anyone carrying out an IDVA role, children’s workers, etc) and professionals working in related fields (including health practitioners, teachers with responsibility for child protection, youth workers, housing officers, police officers etc)
